Resurrection

Cyprus is divided, and so, it seems, is everyone else there. When ultra-athlete and journalist Kjersti Nordhavn sets out to run 350 kilometres across the island in a fortnight, she expects blisters — not a scandal to investigate. The two young local reporters assigned to cover Kjersti’s stunt, Aris and Iphi, find one: a trail of money leading straight to the heights of the Orthodox Church.

Archbishop Ioannis wants a monument worthy of himself — a basilica sufficient at least to match the magnificent original Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
